So say we all!! One of my all-time favorite tv shows…and one I am loathe to rewatch too many times, lest I dim its magic. I’m saving it for next fall, which will be exactly 10 years since my first watch!!
I've always thought that BSG was overlooked (the reboot)... it touched on so many topics that are worthy of discussion- torture as an effective interrogation technique, the monotheism angle, the juxtaposition of human robots and humans.... just name a few ideas. I loved this show when it aired and I still love this show! Thanks for writing about it!!!!
Before my PhD, I'd always loved the public-facing '...and Philosophy' series. I read (and have no clue what I took away from) BSG and Philosophy years and years ago, which is the kind of stuff that inspired me to care about TV as something people can do scholarship about :D. I did read LOST and Philosophy just a couple of years back and it's mostly a fun read!
The idea that machines could go from metallic creatures to something that could pass as living, human & even have their own monotheistic beliefs is too much even for me, someone who made headroom for an android seeking to at least EMULATE humanity like Lt. Data.

Yes! I was literally thinking this today: BSG is the original GOT 😆
